This small swimming pool with poolhouse is set in a lush private garden within an industrial estate in Eastern Uganda.
The pool, a simple rectangle measuring 12.5 by 4m, is defined on two sides by a cantilevering concrete slab and touches the grass of a the surrounding garden with the other two sides.
The house consists of a covered external sitting area, defined by a hipped roof, a brick chimney and sliding foldable steel-timber panels; and by a bathroom/changing block made of clay brick. This block seems shifted sideways to create space for an outdoor shower. The roof is clad with standing-seam metal panels and charred timber on the gable end.
